Spring Programs


Spring Softball Rules


Grades K (A) – This program offers an introduction to the sport with focus on fundamentals of throwing & hitting. All players hit and play on the field each inning. Score is not kept. Players will use an 10 inch “flexi-ball”.

Grades 1 & 2 (AA) – This program offers an introduction to the sport with focus on fundamentals of throwing & hitting. All players hit and play on the field each inning. Score is not kept. Players will use an 10 inch “flexi-ball”.

Grades 3 & 4 (AAA) – This program is an extension of the program for younger children with continued focus on fundamentals of throwing & hitting plus fielding. Players will use an 11 inch “flexi-ball”.

Grades 5 & 6 (Majors) – This program is an introduction to competitive softball where players pitch the entire game. Focus is on fundamentals of throwing, hitting, fielding and development of pitching skills. Players will use an 11 inch softball. Ashland teams play other towns in MetroWest as scheduled by the Tri-Valley league

Grades 7 & 8 (Majors) – This program is the final level of recreational softball offered. Focus is on further development of fundamental skills. Players will use a 12 inch softball. Ashland teams play other towns in MetroWest as scheduled by the Tri-Valley league.

Summer Programs


Twin Valley - Summer Softball

Twin Valley - Code of Conduct


Twin Valley program in the summer are open to all Ashland residents. AYBS offers a variety of age appropriate programs. Recreational inter-town opportunities are offered in conjunction with the Twin Valleyleague.

Sandlot program will offer some instruction but will be focused on allowing players the chance to play in games for recreational purposes. Download PDF version of Sandlot Details
